m1s would do fine in UA and we have around 2500 of them in reserves with no expected use. It would have been smart to also offer them to countries running leopards as backfill for tanks they donate to UA. That way the US picks up UA as a client state and perhaps others as they switch platforms.

Being a turbine they can run on any fuel from gas to home heating oil (diesel) to jet fuels which is essentially diesel with additives.
In general they are much more reliable but consume about 20% more fuel.
Crew training would be the same though logistical trail for repairs would be longer but who is more reliable the US or Germany?
More failure points in the engine alone on the leopard.

Gas turbines are simpler. It's the sensors and computer modules that tend to be the issues. At least that is what it always was with the LM2500's we had on the ships I served on.

Than the leopard 2?
The earliest versions are about 8 tons lighter. The newest models are only a few tons lighter.
They are both much heavier than the t series tanks so roughly equivalent. At that point, it does not make much difference as few bridges would be OK for a Leopard but not OK for a M1.

Ya, there is already logistical supply chain since M1's have been in Europe for decades. From my understanding they are generally easier to maintain at lower levels since tier 1 and 2 maintainers are often just removing the module and swapping it out with a good one.
