I want to get a pedal board now so I can keep this stuff together and put it in a bag or something.
It's a shame you are not local. I have a small one and a massive one sitting around doing nothing.

plus, we could jam!
Recorded this last night with the new amp and my strat.
miked 1 inch from grill on center cone with an SM57
Left guitar is middle pickup, just straight into the amp.
Right guitar is bridge pickup and has the verb pedal on it - just slight.
The amp volume is about 7 - and the breakup is all the amp. I had the volume turned down on the guitar and turned it up at times and at the end.
I'm just playing in a room - no headphones. to a click playing over the speakers.
Messy - but just fleshing out a song
That sounds great!
thanks!
It sort of reminded me of how the Foo Fighters do that thing where they're all playing different but the same. KnowhatImean?

yeah.
Huh... $100
That's pretty cool, but it does sound really artificial to me.
For sure. It's kinda part of the charm.
Getting ready to record!
I was working out and arrangement for a song last night with this Stratocaster in my bed. Lol. Singing into My cell phone.
The song that I'm making has several different time signatures. It doesn't really sound like it does but it does. Anyway. gear!
I've got the amp miked and then I've got My vocal mic set up so that I can sing and play at the same time. A lot of times I think that I get better tracks singing and playing than when I try to sing over a recorded track. If not, then at least it will be a good scratch track
The gear is:
Chandler Redd mic into a Neve Shelford channel preamp .
The guitar a 2011 American deluxe strat, SM-57 mic.
Both microphones are feeding into the interface, which is a RME FIREFACE UCX.
My place is a mess right now because I've got all my guitars out and moved my gear around so I can record. When done I put the stuff away....Which is a pain in the ass. Which is why it's hard for me to get motivated to record in the first place.
I got this for Christmas
nice!

does that mean they are the most "dumped" pedals on the used market?
What I've done is google pedalboards used by Nashville session players. You start to see the same few "staple" pedals and several others that are kind of interchangeable.
Those guys HAVE to have tone and ready for a record. From the second they plug in. Those guys, in my opinion, are the very best. Great sounds and great players.
I've watched many videos that some of these guys make, and it's always fascinating to me. I love when they explain their pedal chain and how they use them.
One of the big Nashville pedals I don't have but would like is the Nobels ODR1. I'll get one eventually, but it will be an impulse buy.

Yeah, almost everyone has that.
