So, I scored a decent acoustic guitar today on FB Marketplace. Unheard of to get a Cole Clark for under a grand. I got this for $800. I've never had a decent acoustic before and this one is pretty enough to live in the lounge room. It's 100 Fahrenheit outside today so it's a good day for air con and a new guitar.

A couple more pics out in my "Doing Stuff" room with some good natural light.

That's gorgeous! Is it all mahogany? Very nice! Congratulations!
-
I think it's mahogany but Cole usually uses a lot of native woods so it could be anything.
-
looks great! What does it sound like? What kind of tone? Warm, bright? Loud?
I think it looks really nice. Bet it plays great.
-
The tone. Those are very warm sounding guitars.
Good snag.
-
Reminds me of the parlor Martin.
-
The wood grain on that guitar is tight. That's a dense lump of lumber.
I'd love to hear it played.
-
Are you going to relic it?

I'm going to hook it up to the tow bar for a couple of days.

If you play it lots and use oils on your fingers it will quickly acquire a patina.
Artificially aging the product looks as just that.

I can't play for shit but I love reading this kind of technical stuff
“I had to find out how they were getting that sound.” How George Harrison, banjo and a studio accident inspired Roger McGuinn’s invention of folk rockThe Byrds’ guitarist was later told he influenced Harrison to write a Beatles’ classic. “We had some cross-pollination,” he sayswww.guitarplayer.com -
Well,
Looks like Reverb.com finally paid off. It's been a year or two but I finally got real action on both of my listings.
The N.i.B. Moogerfooger sold first. Close to list, then, I got a bite on the Rhodes the day after I shipped the Moog, at list. The only wrinkle is the buyer's in L.A. I didn't really want to ship but...2 years. And he seems to really want that particular specimen.
Thanks to whoever recommended them. I think I'll pimp some more gear. There's too much stuff laying about I'll never use.

I'm getting my best buys and sells on Facebook Marketplace lately. I got my Firebird on it for nearly half the cheapest one on Reverb and I've sold about 15 pedals and two amps for what I asked for them.

Because of the fees and all the bullshit with reverb. The guaranteed returns or whatever the hell they do. Screw reverb.

A lot of my stuff is like one of ones, home-built from parts or modified, and every time I put a guitar up there, somebody starts picking my shit apart, and it hurts my little feelers. I'm gonna find the conversation that I had with a guy, and so you can all see what a whiny little bitch I am....
