that is all

Ya, that sucks
why? did you sell too?
Kinda.... I'm holding 10 jun 21 200 call contracts that I sold.
sad....
for me, it's up almost 77%
I'm actually up some too as I own the underlying. I was selling the puts and nvda dived and they got exercised so I started selling the calls only to everyone else realize that AI is doing well and they stock shot up so much that it ran away from me. Since I own the underlying I can keep rolling them forward and up and hope they meet at some point so I won't actually lose the shares.
I don't understand any of that. I wish I did. I just buy straight stocks and sit on them forever.
I can explain whatever you want.
For example... underlying is the stock you own from which you sold the options.
This would make it covered. If you sold the options and you did not own the stock it would be naked aka uncovered.
Options are the contracts to sell or buy a stock at set price at or before the expiry.
expiry is when the option you bought or sold can no longer be exercised.
So when i say "I'm holding 10 jun 21 200 call contracts that I sold"
this means that there is 10 contracts that expire (become worthless) at 200 dollars on Jun 21.
Since I sold the contracts that is an obligation to sell at that price on on before that date.
I'm sad because those options could be exercised at any time and I'm out the difference between my strike price of 200 and the market price of ~ 285
I still have ways to mitigate it but I can be forced to sell shares worth 285 for 200 at any time.
I lost my nerve and blew it.
RR gets it
NVDA $385 + a share
Up 136% for me
I'm going to buy more.
Meh...
The margins.
What does that mean
It means you need to educate yourself.
See if this makes any sense.
nah. I just buy and hold.
NVDA $408
