I'm kind of nervous. This is the first time I've been on call. Being on call means 24/7 availability and that I would have to be at a site within 2 hours, anytime. One of the LA techs is out of town helping fill a vacancy and my manager was asking for volunteers.
I'm still pretty new and have never been in the on-call rotation. The on-call techs get the high priority calls that have to be run during non-business hours. Usually it will be Target stores, and it will be things in their server room or network panels. Believe it or not, the Target in-store Starbucks are also high priority calls.
My stint began last night. I slept well! Just a little jumpy anytime my phone makes a beep. I had a dream that I was called but missed the call. lol.
