I've learned today that as many as 74% but as few as 49% of humanity does not.
If this is indeed fact it goes a long way toward explaining people that greatly annoy me.

I never really thought about it. I definitely have an inner dialog and that guy is a chatterbox. But many people go on visuals of outcomes rather than a voice telling them that something might be a bad idea. I get that too.
What if you have both internal visual and monolog?
Seriously, I never thought others lack this advantage.
My internal dialogue is typically a steady stream of profanities related to whatever I'm doing
Ssshhh.
Yet I enjoy what I do, most days.
I WISH the Mrs. had an inner dialog.
Instead, it's very external.
And constant.
And it never fails that as soon as I manage to tune it out, that's when she'll actually direct a comment or question at me.
Then I'm in the doghouse because I never pay attention to her.
I just assumed that it's a natural thing that everybody has. Inner dialogue.
Apparently we're way unique.
Nah.
Be reasonable. Agree with me.

"Are YOU even LISTENING to me???"
("What a strange way to start a conversation")
Wha?
Inner dialog... more like inner rant.
Bucha unhappy pappy up in here.
I heard about this about 6 months ago and have contemplated asking new customers if they have an inner dialogue and turning them away if they don’t.
Sociopath money is just as good as everyone else's.
I do for complex problem solving. I talk things out internally.
And I think it comes (or is developed) from reading books. When you read a book, you decode written words and build what it says (the story) in the theater of the mind. It makes you imagine things in great detail. Before long it's a developed skill where you can visualize things, talk them out, and solve problems. Sorta like solving math problems in your mind without writing them. Anyways, you don't get that from watching movies or videos IMHO.
It's always been a surprise to me that there's people out there... maybe even a majority, who don't read books ever.
That's an excellent point.
