• Priest recorded having group sex on altar of Pearl River church, police say; 3 arrested

The lights inside Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church in Pearl River were on later than usual on Sept. 30, so a passerby stopped to take a closer look.

Peering inside, the onlooker saw the small parish's pastor half-naked having sex with two women on the altar, according to court documents. The women were dressed in corsets and high-heeled boots. There were sex toys and stage lighting. And a mobile phone as well as a separate camera were mounted on tripods, recording it all.

The eyewitness took a video and called the Pearl River police, who arrived at the church and viewed that recording. Officers then arrested the Rev. Travis Clark, pastor of Saints Peter and Paul since 2019, on obscenity charges.

The Archdiocese of New Orleans announced the priest's arrest Oct. 1 but would not give specifics about why he was arrested. Nor would the police.

UPDATE: Pearl River church's altar removed, burned after priest, dominatrices allegedly had sex on it

New details, however, have emerged in court filings that paint a lurid picture of a priest recording himself engaged in sexual role play while desecrating a sacred place within the church. Public records additionally show that one of the women, Mindy Dixon, 41, is an adult film actor who also works for hire as a dominatrix. On a social media account associated with Dixon, a Sept. 29 post says she was on her way to the New Orleans area to meet another dominatrix "and defile a house of God."

Dixon and Melissa Cheng, 23, were booked on the same count as Clark, 37. Police said the charge stems from from “obscene acts [that] occurred on the altar, which is clearly visible from the street.”

The arrests mark the latest scandal to befall the Archdiocese of New Orleans, after a different north shore priest, the Rev. Pat Wattigny, reportedly disclosed on Oct. 1 to Archbishop Gregory Aymond that he had sexually abused a minor in 2013. Aymond removed Wattigny from public ministry last week and added him to the archdiocese’s list of clergy whom the church believes have been credible accused of molestation.

Clark, who was ordained in 2013, had recently been named chaplain of Pope John Paul II High School in Slidell, in addition to his duties at Saints Peter and Paul. At the high school, he succeeded Wattigny, who had resigned from that position this summer over inappropriate text messages sent to a student. Pope John Paul II’s principal on Tuesday sent a letter to school parents criticizing Aymond for waiting until last week to tell him that Wattigny had been under investigation for those texts since February.

Twitter Boasts of Slowing the Spread of All Information on Its Platform

Social media website Twitter recently congratulated itself for curbing the spread of misinformation on its platform — by slowing the spread of all information on its platform. Based on Twitter’s changes to its platform, total retweets, one of the primary way ideas spread quickly between users, are down 20 percent.

Bloomberg reports that social media giant Twitter recently announced that it had successfully curbed the spread of misinformation on its platform during the presidential election. It accomplished this task by curbing the spread of all information on the platform.

Twitter stated this week that it put labels on 300,000 user posts from October 27th to November 11th for violating rules related to election misinformation. Twitter also implemented a retweet feature that required users to add their own comments before retweeting a post on the platform.

Twitter stated that quote tweets, which aimed to encourage users to add more context to posts, were up by 26 percent as a result of the prompt, and regular retweets were down by 23 percent. Quote tweets and retweets combined were down by 20 percent in total.

Twitter proudly stated: “This change slowed the spread of misleading information by virtue of an overall reduction in the amount of sharing on the service.”

Between election day and Friday of this week, Twitter labeled around 34 percent of President Trump’s tweets and retweets as “disputed.” Breitbart News has reported extensively on this, noting recently that 25 of President Trump’s posts across Twitter and Facebook were labeled or disputed within 24 hours.

Twitter’s head of legal and policy, Vijaya Gadde, wrote in a blog post: “These enforcement actions remain part of our continued strategy to add context and limit the spread of misleading information about election processes around the world on Twitter.”

  • Mark Zuckerberg to Facebook Workers: ‘Joe Biden Is Going to Be Our Next President’

During a recent staff meeting, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg told his employees that Joe Biden “is going to be our next president.”

BuzzFeed News reports that during a recent meeting with Facebook employees, CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated: “I believe the outcome of the election is now clear and Joe Biden is going to be our next president.” He added: “It’s important that people have confidence that the election was fundamentally fair, and that goes for the tens of millions of people that voted for Trump.”

The comments from Zuckerberg came during an all-hands call with employees where he was asked how he planned to work with the new administration despite concerns that Biden and his staff “dislike you and Facebook.” Zuckerberg downplayed the Biden team’s dislike of the company stating that they “worry about the same issues,” including Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which protects platforms from liability for what users post on them. “We will find ways to hopefully work together,” Zuckerberg said.

Zuckerberg commented on the many Facebook users that are skeptical of current election results, stating: “Part of what we’re seeing out there are people who are calling for recounts and legal challenges, which, in a lot of cases, is their right and something you see in a lot of elections. But I think it’s also quite unhelpful that people out there are raising expectations that there is going to be a different outcome than from what was projected.”

Zuckerberg also criticized President Trump for his recent skepticism of election results stating: “I think it, of course, is a challenge when the president of the United States is sharing some of these things directly.”

Breitbart News recently reported that in just 24 hours, President Trump saw his posts labeled or censored 20 times on Facebook and five times on Twitter, nearly all of the labels questioned the President’s comments relating to the U.S. Presidential election and many stated that Joe Biden was the projected winner of the presidency.
