So, who's gonna take the Covid Vaccine?

    • Official Post

I don't trust that it's safe. Have you seen the video of the 33 year old male nurse who had a bad reaction? Or the other people who did?

I'm going to take my chances on the 98.2 or better survival rate vs the reactions.

But COVID-19 vaccines account for 68% of all reported adverse events for all vaccine types during the same time period -- everything from flu shots to measles and tetanus vaccinations.

Dr. Luis Ostrosky, a professor of infectious diseases at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth, said he was not surprised by the numbers, given the enhanced monitoring of the emergency-use vaccines.

“We're actually motivating people to report side effects when we don't usually do that with other vaccines,” Ostrosky said. “As you're getting a COVID vaccine, you're getting a paper that is asking you to register in the system and to report anything.”

The most common reports noted mild symptoms -- 21% complained of headaches, 20% of dizziness and 15% of nausea. Some people reported more than one of those symptoms. The CDC data also revealed 35 hospitalizations of those receiving COVID-19 vaccines. Summaries of their symptoms include heart palpitations, severe abdominal pain, seizures and “almost stroke-like symptoms.” Several people also complained they couldn’t breathe after receiving the shot.

  • Personally I'll take the .00001% risk of death over the 1.8% risk. But some don't look at it that way.

I'm not worried about dying from the Rona- that's pretty unlikely. I worry about being among the 5% or so with chronic effects that could last for years for all we know. The lung scarring and associated problems might be permanent. That doesn't happen with the vaccine. The main risk of the vaccine is the potential for anaphylaxis... which I've never had a problem with.

I don't think that's right though. Not 100 percent of people will get the corona virus.

24 million people got the corona virus in the US so far. Of those, probably less than one percent died from it. So you first have to GET the CV, then you have a less than 1 percent chance (likely for a healthy person) to have a serious case of it.

Also, since most dummies will take the vaccine, you will have a MUCH lower chance of getting it.

Smart money is not getting the vaccine. there have been some nasty reactions to it. And the reactions to this vaccine are higher than most other vaccines COMBINED.

Oh, I wear a mask and I wash my hands very frequently!

In our group of field techs, we have 42 techs. We all work on POS and Network equipment at Target, Home Depot, 711 - plus many others,. but those three we are in every day. Maybe 100 a day or more.

Since Covid started we have had 3 techs actually get covid, and pretty sure they got it at home. None of them were out more than 10 days - and that 10 days is an HR mandate minimum.

    I'm not worried about covid.

  • Your math is off GG. If you divide 24,000,000 by 100 (to get 1%) you get 240,000. thats close to half the number of dead or 400,000 right now. 1.8% is about right. (Thank you RS.)

Now there are 330,000,000 people in the US. Divided by 24,000,000 (the number of cases you quoted) you get 13.75. So if you are generous and cut this number in half, lets say 7, you are looking at 7 years of this pandemic at the current rate of infection and death. The point is that without a vaccine we are looking at years of pandemic if not decades....decades?....yes. The way this works is the more infected people the more likely a mutation will come along that will be worse and the current vaccine won't stop.

You know me. I'm not a "believe the experts" kind of guy. I call every situation like I see it. Mary and I spent considerable time talking about what we would do when the vaccine became available. We decided we would take it.

Do I think everyone that decides not to take the vaccine is stupid? No. Its a hard call for us all. BUT bad data is not the right way to decide.

  • NCHS data can't be trusted because of political pressure.

If a person gets Covid and then dies but never had a test how are they counted?

If your mandate is "only count deaths where there is a test" your number is going to be lower. Its easy to believe that as many as half of the Covid deaths didn't get tested.

My numbers came from the New York Times that started keeping numbers from counties when the last administration and some states started withholding numbers.

Now we can argue over the numbers BUT beyond a shadow of a doubt Trump publicly stated that he wanted us to stop keeping numbers.

This argument has nothing to do with actual science and everything to do with who you believe and why you believe them. If you don't trust msm or any media all you have to do is actually listen to what Trump actually said and says to understand why we are in the position we are in.

It's also easy to believe that many more people get covid and are never tested and are fine. Maybe they didn't even know they had it.

So it works both ways. If a person get covid and lives but never had a test how are they counted?

More people are being tested for covid than anything we've ever monitored, I'd be willing to bet. That's why the numbers are so high. We'd probably get similar numbers if we tested the same for the flu in a normal flu season, pre-covid - then listed any flu-related death as "the flu"

I'm not super concerned about covid. It will go around and fizzle out like everything else. Or maybe it will be like the cold - just always around.

Mostly I think viruses weaken as they mutate. I think I heard that.

  • Here is the CDC article from October.

"As of October 15, 216,025 deaths from COVID-19 have been reported in the United States; however, this might underestimate the total impact of the pandemic on mortality."

"Overall, an estimated 299,028 excess deaths occurred from late January through October 3, 2020, with 198,081 (66%) excess deaths attributed to COVID-19. The largest percentage increases were seen among adults aged 25–44 years and among Hispanic or Latino persons."

October November December Janurary and now the number is 399,000 deaths from Covid.
