Should I even bother with a phone mix? Because I don't. If you listen to music on your phone speaker then fuck you.

I check on a small speaker and phone . I want to be able to hear the kick and bass to some degree and not hear high end biting my head off. I think it's a good idea to check

This is the reason my power has been out for the last 12 hours

oh no!. Hope they get you back on soon!

power company has no idea how long it will be, could be an additional 24 hours from now according to the estimates due to the high number of power outages in the surrounding counties.
It was interesting to see the limb on fire from the electricity then arc out in a blue flash as the lights went dark. Knocked out the entire street

wow, where do you live? Something like that seems like it could be fixed the same day.

the shithole called Illinois. Our circuit isnt a high priority one in town so they get to it "eventually ". Plus they are bringing in people and contractors from out of state due to the large amount of damage the storms that went through this morning.
I've probably already lost everything in the fridge and the fish in the small pond out back are getting to the point that they are lacking oxygen in the water since the aerators are out. They are at the top trying to get oxygen. Dont think they can make another 24 hours without.

That stinks. I'm sorry you're going through this.

it dont really bother me since I cant do anything about it, it will be back on eventually. The wife and kids are complaining they are bored and hot with no ac. I work in the weather so it dont bother me that much. Depending on the restoration time will see how much losses I have in the fridge/freezer/etc

Bummer. Not just Illinois though.

We have a 25kw gen that we hook up our 65hp tractor pto to. I'm thinking of a 100+hp tractor for that function.

We were looking at one of the Generac systems simply out of the convenience.
Rather than go to the barn then hitch up, drag it to the panel, run the leads etc. The Generac after twenty seconds powers up. Once power is restored it powers down.
They're pricey though.

We have the 22KW. Works surprisingly well. Changing the oil will freak one out. Never gets hot enough to get rid of the water, so it comes out milky.

How noisy are those things?

Do you run it often for maintenance and testing?
We utilize the luggable to run a remote pump and other tasks so it remains in working order or we know before an emergency.
I suspect I'd be powering down the primary power every month for about a half day to run it and be certain of functionality.
