I've got no problem with the Dems generally supporting alphabet-people. Republicans would have them suppressed, institutionalized and/or lynched if they had their way.

But there's a cost to supporting any issue in terms of 'political capital'. And they're spending MASSIVE political capital here for the sake of some pretty extreme and unsound policy. In support of .1% of the population. They *could* use that political capital for socialized medicine, workers rights, universal basic income, criminal justice reform, weed legalization... any number of projects that would help Americans by the millions.

Instead they focus on virtue-signaling on boutique-causes that frankly only the upper class cares about.

I say we means test and hand out the money. Any 'sorting' beyond that is just social engineering. Culture-war social-engineering bullshit. Neither 'side' has any shame with that sort of thing.

As for the black judge, I agree that the criteria is stupid in a variety of ways. But that's the world we live in, and she'll be a good check/balance against the boot-lickers.
