Mass Casualty Event in Brooklyn… Developing…

Multiple people shot, unexploded devices found at NYC train station.

Multiple people were shot Tuesday morning at a subway station in Brooklyn, New York, the city fire department said. Fire personnel responding to reports of smoke at the 36th Street station in the Sunset Park neighborhood found multiple people shot and undetonated devices.

According to a law enforcement source briefed on the investigation, preliminary information indicated a suspect was dressed in construction attire.

A photo from the scene showed people tending to bloodied passengers lying on the floor of the station.

Someone remind me of NYC gun laws?

  • The entire thing about ghost guns is flawed from the beginning. They talk as if being able to trace a gun is the way to solve a crime. Thing is that is only the case if the owner who bought the gun is the suspect / perpetrator. Secondly the files are kept at the FFL. That means to find the info of the original purchaser they have to know which ffl sold it. Being they are NOT allowed by law to maintain a registry that means they cannot look up the serial number to find the ffl. That leaves them checking with every ffl in the area to see if they sold it. Technically that means getting a warrant should any ffl tell them to pound sand regarding their records which are only required to be open to the atf. The atf does not get involved in local crimes as a matter of course. Ownership at one point does not equate to criminal use, same as an owner of a stolen car is not responsible if a criminal uses it in a robbery.

This is nothing more than another move by the dems to increase control over the population. They dislike not having leverage on anyone to force them to support the dem agenda.

  • I'm not sure that's the case in tracking Mav.

If the cops find Ruger serial # 123456 they contact Ruger. Ruger is required to keep a record of where the gun went from the factory. Normally shipped to wholesaler/distributor.

They contact wholesaler/distributor who is required to keep a record of which FFL got Ruger serial # 123456.

They contact that FFL who is supposed to keep the 4473 for 20 years.

As you say though, even if all that works out it only takes them to the original purchaser.

Given that most of these shoot-em-ups are not done by a person that could pass a NICS check, the original purchaser is usually not the perp and the serial number trail ends right there.

More meaningless bullshit from the government.
