I've never lived in a place with sirens. My wife's family does, tornado alert, they beat cheeks for the bunker.

When the tornado hit us last year we had about a minute warning. We got a call from my mom to turn on the news. We did and it was calling out streets, 4 blocks, then 3 blocks, then 2 blocks away, and it was on us.

There's a siren here for the Nuclear Power Plant. They test it the first monday of every month.

And every single damn time for the first round of the siren I forget that it's the first monday.

    Let's go birds:

I can take you to dozens of town that are hanging by a thread or few that no longer exist. Real common in the Great Plains states.

Take a local town to me: Phoenixville. It was one of the largest steel producers in the United States. And then the American Government sold out American Steel to Japanese and German Steel post WW2 and the town died. MANY, MANY *union* workers hung around in town for decades convinced it was going to come back.

It got so bad that there was a time when I was growing up when you wouldn't dare walk the streets of Phoenixville without a weapon.

But as the blacks scared white people out of the direct suburbs of Philadelphia, Phoenixville got "gentrified" as a refuge. Any benefits that holds are fleeting because Philly really doesn't do anything itself. So people will learn that living in a nice suburb doesn't change the fact that they aren't servicing anything.

It's basic economics, you failed socialist.

The "Service Economy" was a ruse invented by socialists to loot an amount of the country's wealth that will last them, and ONLY THEM, til they die.

Every town on the entire planet exists for one reason: to service something real. 9 times out of 10, it's manufacturing. Or making something. *Occasionally* it is a transportation hub to service another location's manufacturing.

No town, village, city, county, state, country, kingdom, or empire on the entire face of the planet, in all of recorded human history has EVER survived getting rid of making their own things.

It seems the Amish have decided to engage the culture.

It hasn't "turned" red. Again, I'm convinced that the ONLY reason that they didn't steal the election again is that Joe Biden dropped out so freaking late that they didn't have time to get new fraudulent ballots printed out.

We're still dealing with truckfulls of ballots just showing up from New York already filled out for 2020, and the Democrat Governor and the Democrat Superior Court aren't going to do anything about it.

    First 3 done:

I'd have the other 2 finished, but I'm learning this on the fly and learned that the rivets / eyelets I bought ain't nearly large enough for the 1/8" kydex sheet I got for the big ones.

The fittings are universal, I can change them out, switch the sides and adjust their position.

    Other ones, too:

I'm thinking $250 for these 15" blades, maybe $275 for the bigger ones? I had to get a 2'x4' sheet of kydex to have enough material for the big ones. But I'll do that in the coming days.

Universal Suffrage was a gigantic mistake.

In the new BBB, they were talking about taking away the 6-7K subsidy and Musk freaked out. Because apparently that's enough to take a Tesla from Profitable to Unprofitable.

And just to be clear, I'm not saying that the auto-manufacturers are losing money on a $100k car. I'm saying that they are losing $100k on EACH car. A lot of the big manufacturers are stopping or slowing e-car sales altogether.

Everyone has electric cars over here. The problem is that Tesla is the ONLY manufacturer that is making money on it. Ford, for example, is losing $100,000 PER ELECTRIC VEHICLE they make. Every electric car for Ford is 100 grand down the drain, net.
