That is sad. Losing a pet is truly losing a member of your family. Very sorry for your loss.

Thank you. He meant everything to me.

What a face!
I wish our doggie family members could live longer with us..
It's so hard when they go..but life is hard and the love is amazing and worth every bit of the pain of sorrow.

Thank you, Zell Xan - and welcome!
Yeah, I really miss my baby. I want to get another Chow but it might be a while. I'm lonely without him.
I was thinking about adopting or rescuing an older Chow, but then I think that I would be in this situation again after not too long. It's very painful and I cry a lot still.

Go for a rescue dog. The shelters are packed with unwanted animals nobody wants.
Starting in 2020, I decided to volunteer at the Oklahoma City Animal shelter at least 1x
per month. I feel depressed when I get home each time as I want to bring so many home
with me.
Also, I have come to enjoy senior dogs and cats. So many want the pups or kits or young
ones. The older ones often have a fun personality.

I might do that. I've already been browsing senior chows. Chows are a one person dog and it breaks my heart to see them dumped by the only family they had. They get scared and they're misunderstood. I understand them. I could help one to have a loving home.
My heart couldn't take seeing all those dogs that need a home, as you say. It's very good of you to volunteer like that. I couldn't handle it. I'd be a wreck

I swear, if I had Bill Gates' money I would fund every shelter in America. I would loan out dogs and cats to old folks homes and elementary schools.
