Took me minute to look this one up today. I looked it up because I came up with song idea and I thought the chord progression and feel reminded me of something - and wanted to make sure I wasn't ripping something off. So I remembered the melody and the words "a new and better life... out in California" and I couldn't place it. Then I figured it out. My song is not like it.
I think this is a great song. Clever lyrics and good melody. Great, jazzy kind of elements. I think anyone would be proud to have written a song as good as this

Always loved this one. So well done. I almost put this in the 'Songs with Killer Hooks' because it's got that too. Really great song, I like a a few songs by Hole. Malibu is just as good as this, or possibly even better.
production wise - super slick. Killer bass tones. Great drums and great hooks on both. Very well done. 90s was the greatest decade in music

If you get a chance, put some headphones on and listen to al the cool things going on in Stupid Girl. The little embellishments are very subtle but super cool. The little reverb glitch on her voice is neato.
