They have made it so if a BB pushes you loose. Between CVs and subs the game is fucked.

Warthunder has better and more realistic mechanics. They've fixed a LOT since I last played WT ships. (The ships had a propensity to blow up too often and die from torpedo hits too quick.)
But the match set ups and maps are no better than on WoWs.

I'm up to tier 3/4 American Light Cruisers / Cruisers. I also think that WT's ship progression is crap. A hold over from when they tried to make PT boats a popular thing.
I have WT downloaded but have not updated in a minute.

The problem is that WT started developing Ships before their own tanks or before WOT started developing ships. But they decided that their ships weren't any fun, so they abandoned ships for Tank development.
Later they started to develop PT Boats and similar crafts rather than the big ships, thinking that they would be more fun.
They weren't.
So they started making Destroyers. But the progression wasn't each class of ship developing their own lines of ships. The progression is Destroyers -> Light Cruisers -> Cruisers -> Battleships, all in a line.
I agree the ship lines are like a crack head put it together. They have player owned ships you can buy. I picked up the German bb. It takes a beating and puts out one too. Doesn’t do too well against an Alaska though, generally Alaska finds the magazine fairly easy.

Interesting. The Alaska and Guam were very effective anti air platforms.
They were large cruisers. I think they were armed with a 12in main battery.

one thing I did NOT like about WT was the plane use in tank battles...
IMHO taking a plane up and diving down into an enemy tank to destroy it without losing a respawn is super lame!!!
but that was pretty common at one point... someone finds a good hull down and is sniping and doing a good job...
can't take it out without exposing yourself and probably dying... so they up a plane and dive down you it...
the plane is destroyed along with the tank... and ya still have all your respawns... got really bad and I left...
went back and all my tanks have no crews etc... not even sure I still have all the tanks I selected...
so have not been back to actually play it... and now they have lots of modern tanks in game...
