Saw the Yellowstone 1883 series. Pretty good. Basically it starts the story of the Dutton family. Dutton was a Captain in the rebel army in the civil war, but got captured pretty early on. He decides to take his wife, daughter, and son on the Oregon trail. He hooks up with a Captain of the North who's leading a hodgepodge European Serfs on the Oregon Trail. It's a shit show (the trail, not the show). But anyone who knows the slightest bit of history knows this already. Just started the Yellowstone 1923 series. I like this one better. It starts almost 40 years after the other one. Basically the OG Dutton, his wife and his daughter are dead from a blizzard. Dutton's brother (Harrison Ford) comes in with HIS wife (Hellen Mirren) to run the show and rescue the original's sons (one new). This is all glossed over in the narration, and it's not very clear who is who at the beginning. But the cattle wars have begun with the sheep herders in the middle of the dust bowl. The sheep herders keep pushing their sheep onto other people's property, and the cattle herders have started to fight back, all the while everyone is trying to get to "alive" grass up in the hills.
