Yeah, well,
Thanks for the input.
Looks like it's gonna be an '09 ultra classic.
As usual, the photo's too big...but it's pretty.

Yeah well,
Sorry my call doesn't impress everyone. But I'm pretty sure the detractors justify my choice. There are so many on the market hereabouts it's easy to find a few good prospects. Kinda surprising actually. I never thought I'd own another one but it checked all the boxes. We'll see how it works out.

You gotta do you.

Ignore the naysayers. Just ride.

Yeah well,
Overproducers get used to that weak shit early on.
Most of the time It's all we see.

Mine is all apart in the basement after putting center-stand on. Was gonna replace exhaust headers, but noone has my particular style in stock, guess I'll put the shit back together today. YESTERDAY was fucking 70 degrees and all the salt was of the road, wish I'd been around

Going for something like this. I'll chop the rear fender but not remove it completely and even though he's got a fork brace (which is one of the main purposes of a fender, never go without a fender) I really like the looks of the CX500 fender I've got that bolts up (with minor mods). Also... he's got the triple tree slid WAY too far down the forks; it looks cool, but would literally put the front tire into the radiator with the right bump....

Of bikes in that style, I wouldn't mind an old Triumph

I agree. BUT. Parts are scarce and expensive and I wouldn't want to ruin the value with my cutoff wheel. Bike designs are very "vanilla", designed to appeal to the most people possible with the least chance of offending. I really don't give a fuck about any of that; I know what I like and i know how to get there, and if i piss off a few people along the way, all the better...

Yeah, I couldn't bring myself to to that with an antique. I had to drill out an (unused) exhaust mount hole on my Pan from 11/32" to 3/8", had to think about it for a couple days

The upright thing doesn't SEEM comfortable for long trips, but the style has been dominant for 60-70 years, so what do I know. Was looking at a modern Triumph for Barb, (her hands go numb riding cruiser Harley copies) we couldn't find one with a low enough seat tho

There's a million Rt BMW's out there. Not much choice on those things but they seem to be the tourer of choice everywhere but here.
Seems like the UC has plenty of room. Hopefully I made a good call. I'm not that demanding.

That R18 is badass. I'd ride that.
