    Lets just start out with kicking the holy cow.....our "best in the world" health care system is a piece of crap. Even if you subtract Trump from the mix (more deadly than the virus itself) the system is inept at doing one of their central jobs, educating us about the situation. Here is a hard to find piece of data:

    Now if the regular Flu has a death rate of .1%....30 to 35 thousand deaths every year. WHY HASN'T ANYONE SCREAMED ABOUT THIS MANY PEOPLE DIEING WHEN THEY DIDN'T HAVE TO???? I mean the only reason the regular flu death rate is so high is because we don't ware masks and gloves, like the Japanese, when we go to work sick.....and we go to work sick all the time.


    And....the numbers I have seen for death rate comes down to 700,000 to over 2 million dead.


    And its not the "heat" in the summer that slows down viruses (doesn't stop them) its the light, people generate their own D3 when they get some sun and vitamin D, like vitamin C, stimulates your immune system.


    What countries are doing the best against the pandemic? Japan and South Korea. Countries that have strong national health care systems. Unlike us.

    Texas didn't take the Obama Care money (for us about 2 billion dollars the first year) so our system is hanging on by a thread....literally. We are 4500 general practice doctors shy of being in the middle of the averages of all the other states. Our hospitals on any one day of the year are over crouded without a pandemic. So what do Texans do? Go buy a bunch of toilet paper. How pethetic.


    The CDC says not to go to the hospital, go to your family doctor. Half the population of Texas doesn't have a family doctor and can't aford the $100 to go to a doc-in-the-box and can't aford to loose even a few days of work so they will be cooking us hambergers and handing us change at the convience store till they drop dead.


    So you wonder why the under 30 croud are all SOCIALISTS! Because the two party system is such a failure at addressing the needs of the young.


    AND another thing! How convienent that this virus is blamed on threatening the economy just when the powers that be need an excuse for a resession. The FED has been punping money into the banks for months....long before the pandemic...becuase of bad loans, we are on the edge of resession as i speak. The Fracking industry will dissapear in a few days because the whole industry is built on borrowed money and the pay back depends on oil being at least $50 a barrel.

    Well....as of 11:59 tonight hell has frozen over. My county is in lock down. We had our first case of the virus today.....first positive test result....took a week to come back. A lady went on a cruse over 14 days ago and when she started having symptoms she went to the doctor and got tested. So she has most likely infected 100 people. The sheriff will be handing out warnings but you could get taken to jail if you are out without the proper paperwork. My son has a letter from his company to show he is "essential". Mary is working at home as of tomorrow. I....well nothing changes for me. I have been working at home for years. I have stocked up on cat food. My 12 cats and outside cats are ok for now.


    The Governor is having to answer a lot of hard questions about Texas not taking the money from Obama Care and letting the medical system become so fragile. Our county hospital is a death trap on a good day.


    I ordered 1000 poly gloves off of ebay today. $17. I have masks. I used one today. Its hard to breath with it on. I'm ordering parts to build respirators tomorrow. I'll be 69 on the 28th and I'm in better shape than I have been in decades, Mary too.


    What we need is real N95 masks and gloves for everyone. If we had that and good testing we could all go back to work. Without it the system will simply have to choose who gets a respirator and who dies soon.

    I don't think any of that is true SCREAMMMMMMM. Alex Jones usta be good but now he's full of crap. They have been warning us about a pandemic coming all my adult life. We just didn't prepare for it. And it wouldn't have taken much.


    First, you don't cut the funding for the CDC just because there "isn't a pandemic right now" thinking we can just pull it together when the pandemic happens.


    Second, it would have cost pennies to have masks and gloves ready to pass out. That would have stopped most of this.


    Third, we could have gone with the WHO's test like the rest of the world. It works and doesn't take a week to get results.
