The 4 is plenty enough.

The GL1000 is a nice balance. The GL1100 gets a pass as well.

Whole lotta plastic

I like to see the powerplant.

Don't drop it
That's a big problem for you, eh? The GLs only go to about 48° before coming to rest on the exhaust manifold.
-
THAT critter is likely to crack major shit in two if kickstand fails, at least there's no plastic shit. Guy at jail I do work at dropped his jap 1100 whateverthefuckitwas (I think Kawi), insurance totaled it. My Pan fell over on trailer once (strap ate into sharp thingie) no damage outside of oil line being pushed into oil TANK, making a dent. Dropped 700 pound Road King once (backing out of garage downhill, squeezed front brake handle, only to realize said master cylinder was being rebuilt elsewhere.) Dented left saddlebag, which was already a goner, owing to its former owner

I've dropped every scooter I've ever owned and a few I didn't own.
-
This is a major concern for you and I think you should definitely stick to things with more than two wheels.
-
Yes. So, may I borrow yours?

While I like Ducati's look I am not a fan of desmodromic valve maintenance schedule. It was what stopped me from buying one back in 2000.

Wife wants to get another bike, but not another cruiser. She has arthritis and her hands go numb holding the handlebars the way you hold them on a cruiser. She wants something that looks more like a crotch rocket. We were looking at Ducati's, but she's 5 ft 3, and they don't make one that feet can touch the ground with
-
Get her a 250 Ninja. She won't be comfortable leaning on the bars though.
-
Yeah, I'd like to rent one but I haven't found a scenario where I can do that. She thinks leaning over where she doesn't have to raise her arms is going to make it better
-
Triumph street triple. Just stay away from the R models.
-
-
What about the older style, neither a cruiser nor a crotch rocket?
Almost bought one of these several years ago.

She's trying to avoid anything that has her sitting up right, I don't know if it'll work though. On the other hand she has a nice ass which always looks good on a crotch rocket

The street triple has a more rear bias on the peg set with a drag style bar (clipons on the R). it should be a more of a slight lean forward over the tank. I'd have her sit on/test ride one.
Edit: New R models have Bars and one model has lowered seat height

That's the exact bike I want. They're hard to find. I'll put clipons on mine but she may like it with straight bars. Let me know if you find one. The newer ones have a 6-speed gearbox and spokes. They were discontinued this year.
