Wow, I love everything about this bike.
Time for a bike

Beautiful, well, well done sir. I rode an Ultra Classic back in 2007 from Calgary AB right out to PEI (Prince Edward Island, it's well East of Quebec, and almost as far to the East side of Canada you can go, other than Newfoundland, which is to be avoided at all costs as it's full of...Newfies). Part of the time I'd have a passenger, there were17 bikes on that little trip, and my friend's 9 year old son would ride shotgun with me to give his dad a break sometimes.
Anyhow, the large HD bikes as such were a lot easier to handle than I thought they'd be even at lower speeds/stopped/backing up/etc. It was a dream at 75 MPH where we spent the majority of our time. I imagine now with all the new tech and creature comforts like nav/stereo/communication/phone and such make them an even better highway bike.
I had a chance to buy an HD trike for a screaming cheap deal from a family friend's estate when he passed 2 years ago, and if I had known I'd shatter my right lower leg bones into powder 7 months later one, I would have so I could ride it now. I'm not on the lookout for one, but if another such deal walked across my crosshairs, I'd press the trigger in an instant.

Thanks! It's the cleanest example I ran across. Pretty much spotless with the exception of 1 missing antenna tip.
It's gonna take some getting used to. My last ride was close to half It's mass. But it does ride nice.

Don't EVER touch the front brake on grass or gravel
-
Yeah, thanks, learned that lesson many years ago when some cunt cut me off on a shell road.
But it might be a good test of the A.B.S.

Goldwings are the best bikes. It is known. I'm seeing surprisingly reasonable prices on early GL1800's.

I'd put Beemers even above them

Yeah well,
I'm not a fan of ass-backwards over-complicated over-priced German engineering. If money was no object, sure. It works great when it's new. But since I do my own maintenance, it's a Jap bike or no bike.

(That said, I still prefer 60 year old Harleys)

I think a Harley could be an ok bike. I like a lot of Amurican cars even though they aren't as good as Japs. So why not bikes? But I just can't bring myself to be a Harley Douche. Maybe if they were cheaper than superior Jap bikes...

It's possible I'm more an antique fan, and not a mere Harley fan. I can't say I'd particularly want a modern HD, (although I own a '99 Road King) but I wouldn't mind owning a 60's Triumph. I expect a Norton is unobtainable

I really ike the sound of those triples. But I don't wanna deal with half-assed British engineering when I can get much better Jap engineering for the same price.

Triumph makes this thingie, 2500 CC, 165 HP
I rode an older version of this, prolly around 2010, There is nothing else on the road that pulls like this thing. It simply has that much more talk/weight than anything else on the road.
-
165 HP, that's like 3x what my Pan motor puts out, fucking absurd
-
How much power do you need? to plod along in the sun, at 50 mph?

Indeed

My truck has a 5.7L Hemi and that's more power than I'll likely ever need (unless I can get a camper to tow). It's still fun to have all that power especially when passing someone on the highway.

My van died in Franklin North Carolina Friday, so I'm driving a Buick encore for the next week or so. This engine has 155 horsepower, which is less than that motorcycle lol
