Na you already play. You've worked it out.

Long and meaty according to goats mom.
Long fingers help on the fretboard.
Get a fender strat.
How much money do you have that you would like to put into a guitar?
Tele guy here...
As much as I need. I work a lot so I just save up and get the best or close to it.
My son has a strat and a Tiny Terror amp. Would be SO great if I could learn to play and surprise him with a jam at the house one day.
I recently turned 60, want to work less and play more. I’ve been a Mark Knopfler fan since Sultans of Swing was released. Got pretty good with a bass in Iceland then quit playing when I returned to the states.
I already have a Yamaha acoustic. The electric in that video just looks like a ton of fun.
I would get a Stratocaster or a telecaster. But I would get Stratocaster as an overall versatile guitar and it comes with a tremolo bar , whereas a telecaster does not. Not that that matters so much.
But for playability, tone ability and comfort I would get a Stratocaster.
Generally the more money that you pay the better quality you will get.
A Les Paul style of guitar I would stay away from. They are not as comfortable to play, not as easy to play, not as versatile, heavy and they don't sit on your lap well. They're not balanced well.
Get a cheap acoustic with a good neck.
One that will mostly stay in tune
A Yamaha 335 or an Epi D100
Get a fender strat.

Had a friend who was very good, had a Gibson for some years, he'd let my fart around with it now and then, I found it hard to play. THEN, he got a Strat. Amazing how easy was in comparison
The downside of the variax that they don't tell you... You cannot get those sweet acoustic tones through a guitar amp; you must plug into a full-range PA or recording interface for that. The variax is my sole gigging guitar. I can switch between a multitude of tones on the fly. Below is my gigging pedalboard. The blue pedal at the lower right is a three way routing switch. It allows me to switch on the fly between electric, acoustic and keyboard tones from the EHX pedals or any combination of all three. The acoustic and organ channels each have their own mixer channel, the electric channel goes to my guitar amp.
And if you're not familiar with the EHX pedals...

Fender Strat - not an acoustic, not a Gibson and not the variax
$849.00 for Player Stat- Very high quality. Made in Mexico (don't let that fool you - these are good)
$1100 - Player Plus - upgraded hardware over Player - Made in Mexico
That's a good guitar and not too expensive. That's what I would recommend
American made go up starting at about $1400.00, but not necessarily "better" - American Performer, American Professional, American Ultra.
With the American ones, they come with full hard case though - and that's about $250.00 value
If it were for me, right now - I'd look at these specific guitars
Dyl's gt a Mexican Strat and it's very nice. I figured on doing a complete setup on it (guitar center) but it was pretty close right out of the box. He's like his dad and can't leave well enough alone though... He's wanting me to put Lace Sensors in it. I told him I'm against it but will do it if he really wants... We can always change it back when he gets tired of it.
Ignore those two behind the curtain.
