In the past I have enabled thread tags and the cloud tag. Before I just allowed anybody to create their own tags. Now I'm going to create categories for these tags.
Basically what thread tags do is they organize threads based on how they are tagged.
For instance, I could have a politics tag. If you are making a post and would like it to be found later when somebody clicks on politics, then you would type politics in the thread tag. It'll automatically populate when you start to type the word.
So basically you would have an easy way to reference threads that are related. We can have politics, music, breaking news, or whatever.
Not many people used or understood them before I don't think. But I'm going to make a little demonstration for that.
Think of tags as just a way to sort threads.
Any ideas what you guys would like?
Really thread tags could take the place of sub forums to a certain extent.
Not that we can't have subforums.
What do you guys think about that?
