I'm worried that the Russians are regrouping and have a new commander. They've likely learned a big lesson and probably are going to come back in the regions this guy is talking about. They'll be better equipped and helped by the terrain it looks like.

It's frustrating that we're limiting what we will send them. Like we're not sending them any heavy offensive equipment. Like tanks or big trucks or anything like that are we?

But we are supplying them with intelligence and I'm sure that's doing a hell of a job.

Russian state television declared Friday night that its conflict in Ukraine can now "safely be called World War III."

"What it's escalated into can safely be called World War III – that's entirely for sure," Russia 1 television host Olga Skabeyeva said, according to a translation of Friday night’s broadcast by Britain's Metro News. "Now we're definitely fighting against NATO infrastructure, if not NATO itself. We need to recognize that."

The remarks on the Russian state sponsored station come a day after Russia's flagship, the Moskva, sank in the Black Sea on Thursday.

While the Russians claim the sinking was the result of an onboard fire that accidentally broke out, U.S. officials confirmed to The New York Times that two Ukrainian Neptune missiles struck the vessel, seen as the pride of the Russian fleet, killing an unknown number of sailors, and sending the vessel to the bottom of the Black Sea.

According to the Times, the Moskva was positioned off the Ukrainian coast and was used to send rockets into Ukrainian cities, hitting apartment buildings and other targets.

Retired military officers told the Times the sinking was a "bold" counterattack and the ship's powerful missile platform is impossible to replace, making it a "grave blow" to Russia’s fleet.

"It was a very impressive ship," retired Rear Adm. Samuel J. Cox, the director of the Naval History and Heritage Command in Washington told the Times. "With those surface-to-surface missile launchers, she really looks dangerous. But apparently, she can't take a punch."

Metro News reported Russia launched rockets into the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv overnight, which might be a form of revenge by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

One of the guests on the Russia 1 broadcast compared the sinking of the Moskva to an attack on Russian soil and called for the destruction of Kyiv, according to the report.

President Joe Biden announced Wednesday that the nation would be sending Ukraine another $800 million in military assistance, bringing the total to $2.5 billion in military equipment and arms, Reuters reported.

The latest round of aid came after Biden spoke on the telephone with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"We cannot rest now," Biden said in a written statement. "As I assured President Zelenskyy, the American people will continue to stand with the brave Ukrainian people in their fight for freedom."

Putin, however, said any military aid entering Ukraine could be considered "targets" for his forces, the Times report said.

The United States helped the Ukrainian armed forces kill "many" of the Russian generals who have died in combat during the Russia-Ukraine war, through the sharing of intelligence, anonymous senior American officials told The New York Times.

U.S. intelligence officials reportedly provided "real-time battlefield intelligence" to the Ukrainian forces, in the form of anticipating Russian troop movements "gleaned from recent American assessments of Moscow's secret battle plan" for attacking the eastern Ukraine region of Donbas, sources told the Times.

The result: Ukrainian officials report approximately 12 Russian generals have been killed in battle.

This classified targeting effort from the Biden administration focused on providing "the location and other details" of the Russian military's constantly changing mobile headquarters.

Ukrainian officials then combined the geographical updates with their own intelligence to conduct artillery strikes and other modes of attack against the Russian officers — some of whom reportedly held senior-level titles.

The Biden administration was quick to publicly denounce Russia for its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, which began Feb. 24. The condemnation included sanctions against Moscow and sending military aid packages to Ukraine.

At the same time, U.S. officials had been previously silent about sophisticated intelligence missions like this, perhaps out of fear of Russian President Vladimir Putin viewing these moves as an "escalation attempt," which could lead to a broader war, involving other countries.

It is a fine line to walk, especially with the Russians warning the U.S. on Wednesday about sending more arms to Ukraine.

Citing the Times report, the U.S. intelligence support given to Ukraine has had a "decisive effect on the battlefield."

As such, the "flow of actionable intelligence on the movement of Russian troops that America has given Ukraine has few precedents."

To accomplish this mission, the various U.S. intelligence agencies reportedly relied on a variety of sources, including "classified and commercial satellites" to trace the Russian troop movements.

In recent weeks, the Russians have concentrated most of their strategic military efforts on overtaking eastern Ukraine.
