You don't need Moose to spawn on events but it adds much including infinite respawns.
Another crappy DCS thread

After a while, if you keep the server going, you may want to get TacView. Very handy for analyzing flights. I got it on sale a while back but it shows to be about 28 bucks right now. Looks like they have 40% off sales every 6 months or so.
-
I have the free version of Tacview atm and when I start the server on this machine Tacview starts up with it.
-
Some of the advanced features are disabled after 3 weeks iirc. Don't even remember what features disappear then. Less than 17 bucks I couldn't pass it up.

The built-in "playback" in DCS is next to useless. My understanding is a saved playback saves only your control inputs. Then when you replay it the same scenario is started and it uses those saved inputs. Almost every time I've used the playback it never happens the same way twice. TacView records everything and is accurate. Wish there were a way to play the Tacview track in DCS itself.
-
Did you buy the Standard or Advanced version? And if you bought the standard version do you think it would be wise for me to get the standard version also or upgrade to the Advanced version considering I'll be using it on the server?

You can't even rewind the DCS .trk files.

I think I'll get the standard version first and then if I need to, I can upgrade later. This exact thing is dealt with in the FAQs and you can upgrade later if you wish for roughly the price difference between the two versions.

I got the Standard version. The "real time telemetry" in the advanced sounds interesting. There was a 10 minute delay function built-in when multiplayer was being recorded. That was to prevent cheating. Dunno what the "real time telemetry" does.

I watched those 3 videos and the first one is just blurry enough that I can't read your script, it clears up 2 seconds before the end.
-
That's a youtube issue. If you try it again it may be clear.
-
I watched it and it went from low to high res at about 18 secs in. It varies and I think youtube starts the higher res depending on how old the video is and how many views it has.
My videos don't get many views and I'm good with that. Never intended to try to monetize them. I did discover I get more views by adding "DCS" to the title though.
-
If you have something specific you're having trouble scripting I'll be glad to take a look and make a video.
-
You could add DCS as a tag also to get more views.
-
I don't really put much effort into them and so don't really expect, or want, much attention. Just enough to encourage a few friends to fly with me.
-
Which files do I need? I'm pretty sure I don't need the two source code files and I'm pretty sure I need the first one in the list, but what about the other two?
Releases · FlightControl-Master/MOOSEMission Object Oriented Scripting Environment (MOOSE) for lua mission scripting design in DCS World - FlightControl-Master/MOOSEgithub.com -
For Moose all you need is the moose.lua file.
At least that's all I've ever used. There may be more functionality provided in the include file.
-
I'll read that page also, it looks like a lengthy read but will probably be supremely useful long-term.
-
No doubt.
You can do a lot more with Moose or Mist than I've ever done.

The YouTube video quality does not depend on how many subscriber you have at all. You should be able to get 4k no matter what. But it will show you lower resolution if you have a bad connection or if the video hasn't finished processing yet
