Followers isn't the same as viewers.
You can have a million followers but that doesn't mean they're tuning in and listening. Viewers are actual viewers.
Yup... Just because the cnn is on at the airport doesn't mean anyone is watching it. With linear broadcasting (radio AND tv) it is nearly impossible to gauge viewers/listeners. EVERY TIME someone tells you "X" amount of people watch/listen to a program/show/channel/station they are using extrapolation to arrive at a number. Digital streams, on the other hand... give you an EXACT number, even live streams. One of the ways I'm contemplating charging for ads on my station is through "hits" or... how many people were tuned in when a particular ad aired.
They should have listed Rogan's streams instead.
I think TV ratings and viewers are pretty accurate. Nielson boxes provide the sampling - and they're not at places like airports, as far as I know.
Streams can be manipulated too.

14.5 Million might seem impressive but in the big scheme of things it’s just 4% of the population. Even if all those followers actually listened to his show, (which is doubtful) I wouldn’t call that a significant number.
Well you'd actually have to navigate to his site and click on it, which requires much more effort than being trapped in a doctor waiting room watching CNN

That's a lot of streams... many streamers and youtubers bigger than CNN now. Mr. Beast is bigger than every news channel.
