For the record, a song's chart success has never confounded me. Chart success doesn't even figure into my criteria of songs that I like or don't like.
So under the guise of this thread concept, all we really have is another shitty song thread. Songs that will mostly suck but with the occasional decent song making a show via the virtue of them being popular songs.

Which is another reason that folks feel "there's no good music anymore". There's no longer an industry/mechanism in place to tell them what good is.

He's allowed to like it, just as you are. However, using his testimonial as a reason to like it is lame AF.
Also... Aside from the singles that were pulled off it, Pet Sounds was mostly forgotten until in a 1982 documentary, The Compleat Beatles, George Martin briefly sung its praises. Suddenly, people began relistening and re-evaluating it.
