What do you think Russia is doing with Ukraine?

  • Of course while Hitler was beating the Russians back to the Stone Age, the Wehrmacht would have still been taking a beating itself. By the time Adolph was shaking hands with Tojo at the Manchurian border his army would have been severely weakened. Additionally, Adolph would then have the problem of controlling a huge land area with millions of inhabitants that demonstrated pretty good Partisan ability.

THAT would be time for the Brits and French to strike, assuming they had had the sense to rearm in the interim. But they were pretty stupid in that respect.

  • There wouldn't have been any inhabitants except for the slaves needed to build the Reich. The Germans were waging a Vernichtungskrieg. A war of annihilation. The Slavs were not Aryan enough to be Germanized. To paraphrase Hermann Goering: Those who can't work will die; those who can will work until they die.

The group that wants to win will always beat the group that wants to be left alone.

  • As you pointed out, the Wehrmacht had very long supply lines in Russia and mostly railroad dependent. The Partisans did a pretty good job as it was. As the lines would have gotten longer, it would have become really difficult to keep the war machine supplied. I think the Germans would have had their hands quite full taking the whole of Russia and then keeping it under control.

I doubt the Wehrmacht would have been able to annihilate the Russians and then pivot to counter a prepared/intelligent English/French military assault.

i also think though that the Brits and French would have failed to use the time to re-arm with modern equipment and train up a competent, well-equipped military force. Face it, the Brits and French typically wish in one hand and shit in the other when it comes to military preparedness.

  • The German army probably had too many trucks. They didn't have enough oil to support a fully mechanized logistics system. In the east, the Germans were totally dependent on the railroad to supply them, and could only mount limited long-range operations away from their rail depots.

If they'd had more trucks in the east, long range operations from their rail depots wouldn't have been nearly the problem it was.

  • More trucks would not have mattered when they didn't have enough fuel for the trucks they already had. In 1942 the German army had three army groups on the eastern front. They barely had enough fuel to activate one of them for the Case Blue summer offensive (army group south). And even then it was a go-stop-go-stop affair as the panzers ran out of fuel and had to wait for resupply. Many encirclements failed because the panzers couldn't close the pincers before running out of gas leaving a gap for the Russians to retreat. They even de-motorized a lot of their logistics and infantry divisions to save fuel for the panzers. At this time the European Axis Powers produced only one-third of the oil they needed.

The group that wants to win will always beat the group that wants to be left alone.

  • Clearly not allies. Two enemies dividing up Poland and shaking hands on the deal. I remember Boroda posting that the omniscient Stalin only did this deal to buy time to improve the Soviet forces and provide a territorial buffer for the attack he knew Hitler would eventually make.

Of course there are numerous historians that indicate Stalin was totally surprised and had a nervous breakdown when his buddy Adolph launched Barbarossa.

One thing is certain. In the political circle the commies on the left and the national socialists on the right meet at the point where both are completely totalitarian.

They for certainly allies at that point.

That reminds me of a video that was posted maybe 15 years ago of a hind helicopter going really fast low and being shot down. It was horrible because the camera kept rolling after it was shot down and I'm sure the people inside were dead. But you could see the camera still and you can hear all the gunshots they were still firing and plinking at it you could hear them ricocheting they're coming into the helicopter. Horrible

State Department Spokesman Ned Price Gets Into Shouting Match With Reporter, Accuses Him Of Believing Russia Over US

State Department spokesman Ned Price got into a full-blown shouting match with Associated Press diplomatic reporter Matt Lee at a press briefing Thursday.

Price opened the briefing with a statement on the U.S. government’s allegation that Russia has planned to stage a false flag on video to use as a pretext for invading Ukraine. According to the State Department, Russia recruited crisis actors to stage a false explosion that would appear to destroy military equipment and locations, and Washington is publicizing the plan in an attempt to deter Russia from using it.
