Who is that?
-
Dave Gioulette and Alanis.
-
Dave's the "You Oughta Know" guy.
-
He thinks he's the guy that the song is about but he most definitely is not.

Oh?

Yep. I know the real story. I knew her brother very well back in the day.
-
The real story is how she got fucked over by her first real love - a worthless POS who was the one of the hottest hockey prospect in the country. He was a very short lived super famous teen, and so was she (except she went on to be world famous). Well, he turned pro, and turned out to be a worthless player. He didn't handle it well, and took it out on her, eventually kicking her to the curb after much (and I mean MUCH) abuse.
I'd name him, but she won't so I won't out of respect for her family. He's a nobody now anyways - long forgotten.
But yeah, that's who the song is really about. The only reason why everyone thinks it's about the Full House guy is because he says it is, because he has an insufferable ego. Like that You're so Vain song by Carley Simon.
