Explain this please.
Since the server trusts the client for its position way too much, you induce lag artificially so when the server resyncs you are somewhere else.

dropping packets and not losing connection. Ever witness a warp at the most oppertune time... over and over?
See Hispeed for example. Catch him flatfooted and warp factor 5.
Yeah a crude one can be made with a networking cable (CAT5 etc) between your router and your computer. Cut the cable in the middle, and patch in a physical switch on the right wire. You can then degrade your connection at the touch of a switch (on/off). There are software versions of this as well I'm sure.
Turn on the lag switch off, pull a maneuver, and it turn it back on - you just magically warped. Using a light switch from Home Depot, mounted right on the desk next to the flight controls is usually how the assholes set it up.
Do it too long you get lost connection, but with the right touch it makes for a short term "cloaking device".
So if you had a speed hack set up and a "cloaking device", you would have a pretty insurmountable edge.
I think Skyrr was using a speed hack to get extra E on merges, and of course to sustain e-bleeding turns. He also for sure used an aimbot - he posted more than one impossible shot videos on youtube.
Whatever, he was fun to hate and hunt, so he provided me with a lot of motivation to get on the game back then.
Screenshot was a big one for a while, I think you would hit alt S or map the key to it. Your CPU would hiccup while it was doing that
Pellik got booted for using an aimbot IIRC.
He was also using a hack that made his Pee Turdy Ate turn like a Zero.
If people are doing weight hacks then you'd just map it to a hot key. When you need to turn like a zero, take off all the weight. When you need to dive and hold E, crank it up.
Aimbots are done by reading memory, grabbing the x-y-z location for objects and triangulating from 0. Takes awhile to do the research but once you've done it, they have to do something to patch against it and make you start the process over. Didn't they post the ballistics tables for guns? Kind of trivial with that to plot the intercept point and automatically shoot for you.
He just figured out how to turn on the training sight outSIDE of the training arena
If it's a money thing (probably is), I would advise Dale to sell Perk Points.
There I said it.
I would have sold Perk Points starting in 2005 had I been in his shoes.
Call me JooFire.
That's how WOT does it

damn that's lazy.
Seriously... I was talking with aa guy named birddog about lag and the modem cheat, the next day, poof.

Dale issued a veiled threat to me on the forums when I said that cheaters are in every game and its ridiculous to think otherwise. There are ALWAYS people who will cheat.
I would have gladly paid for Perk Points. I flew on/off and had a (terrible) habit of cancelling accounts then reactivating them later. I also didn't put in the grinding hours to accumulate a shitload of them.
I would have had no problem laying down a hundred or two for a fat stack of perks.
Just saying, that was a huge miss IMHO but what do I know.
I mentioned before that he should be charging for perks or some kind of upgrades. That's the way people keep their accounts. I even mentioned Ultima online.
Ultima online let people sell their accounts too, so those accounts state active for a long time when they otherwise might have been canceled.
So people have things that they built up in a game they don't want to just throw that away.
