  • It's legitimate to ask "why". It was disruptive to be globalized and it will be disruptive

as it unwinds. Most people just want to live their lives and be left alone. We adapt and we get use to the environment. Older people should not be happy about all this because they are looking forward to being disrupted for the rest of their lives.

Reminds me of the good old Soviet days.

Russia has always been a shit stain. A pain in the ass for everybody. Russia does nobody any good. Ever.

Pandora's Box/unringing a bell (the former born of a pessimistic presumptive fear, the later a matter of pragmatism*). The economy and societies, by and large, became truly global with the end of WWI as attempts were made to link nations to advantages that help prevent violent (non)solutions. The bad actors that insist on war as an 'answer' threaten the fabric of civilization more than globalization possibly can.

*The definition of a pragmatist is a realistic who looks at things logically and takes the logical approach. A realist who is neither an optimist nor a pessimist who examines situations objectively and assess them realistically is an example of someone who is a pragmatist.

I'm not sure that globalization threatens civilization at all but I am sure that bad actors that insist on war will always be with us.

However it comes down, I am a pragmatist....mostly. I believe you have to evaluate situations as they come. I would not say I would rather be RED than dead but if the price of peace is easily affordable, I would pay it.
