“I figured out Skyyrs main tactic in 1v1s and why he always had more speed than everyone. Not going to say here.”
Why won’t you say what it was? Nobody here still flies it

The only thing I could tell from those videos is that sky started pulling up before the merge. I'm not sure if that's legitimate or not. I thought that when you duel somebody you're not supposed to do anything until the merge.
And I would also guess that he probably climbed higher than the agreed altitude and then dove down to the merge altitude to get a little extra speed.

I don't think that there are any flight sims that use authoritative servers. Too much shit happening at such high speeds to factor in Player -> Server -> Player lag.
Nah, you just use what's called a OcTree to divide space and adjust update rates based on shortest distances. It hasn't been a big deal for quite some time. This code is native in mmo engines and has been for at least 10 years on one I use. Generally a money loser though, lots of horsepower for low population games. People can still build aimbots, the positions are in local memory afterall, but there's a lot of variables that should be locked on the server side, like ammo limits, parametric parts of the FM, etc.

I always liked the base capture squads. Look, those guys weren't furballers and never would be. If you forced them to furball, they'd quit the game.
There were other players who didn't furball who spent all their time busting and attacking the base capture guys. You also had guys who didn't want to fly fighters - they liked flying bombers (hard drinking socializers who chatted away all night) and driving GVs. Force them to furball, they'd also quit.
Others still liked doing CV ops - hitting a base with the naval guns, then launching a CV based force to capture a base. Again, it could be really fun to try to stop them. It was also fun to take part in it.
Look all to say, to me the best year in AH was around 2004-2005, when you had these perfect big arena maps that had it all. They had a landscape that was appealing to the base sneakers, the CV ops guys, had a tank town for the GVs, and had a perfect spot in the middle of the map for epic furballs.
No arena caps or player balancing. I loved that era - the chaos, the hordes... and a million ways to have fun and bust people. I loved logging in there, taking all the battle in, and choosing something to do. If I felt like pure furballing with no distractions, I'd go to the big furball in the DA.
I liked all of it, and I liked the variety. Something for everyone (even the two account cock sucker 007 spy types).
I think what hurt AH the most was the hardening of bases - that killed the chaos... that ruined it so a group of 3-4 guys could no longer sneak a base. The more they reigned in the chaos, and tried to force people to play a certain way, the more people left the game IMHO.
I liked the Chaos and the Action. I liked the variety and the fun.
we used to love to capture the home base... and then just as we did or a little before warn everyone!!!
had some GREAT ground battles all around the home base and freaked out the chess piece we had captured...
was FUN... and used to defend bases with a 109f4 with gondies or a 109g10 with gondies or a zero...
had so much fun until the base capture types started swarming the bases...
then the AH mafia complained about the gondies etc.. and no gondies for the 109f4 and NO 109G10 at all....
got a POS 109K with the 30mm that missed really bad UNLESS you used an aimbot!!! which some used... lam!e
oh well left when I realized skuzzie lied and to me and blamed my comp... and the AH mafia was ruining the game for me and...
AH lost the rights to the smoothing code and the connect sucked so bad I had to spray and prey cause planes weren't where I saw em...
too many negatives for me...

Heh, Scummy..
What a worthless piece of shit.

Alright, fuck it. But yall dont go around spreading this because I dont want others to do it or cause any controversy, even tho the match play are air spawns now....
Most people would turn directly towards the engagement zone right after they took off. My theory, rather than say he went over the alt limit. Was to actually take off and fly out about 2 miles and thennnn turn in towards the engagement zone. It would allow him to enter the merge just a slight bit faster than the other guy who didn't build up speed first before turning in.
-
That’s why you demand film or when it’s shit sticks like cryer you have someone ride with both of you to make sure it’s clean.
-
I wouldn't consider that cheating. You consider that cheating?
-
Depends on the rules set up before the duel.
-
Well... what kind of moron wouldn't try to gain a little E before engaging? Was it stated that you have to turn in as soon as wheels go up?
-
Every duel I’ve had .
Had a max alt you could climb too.
Immediately turn to the grid where the fight is to take place.
Guns cold on initial merge.
-
Myself watching skkyer videos... the one thing I noticed that he did was to constantly toggle in and out of combat trim.
-

I consider it cheating. Getting an unfair advantage over anybody else. You're supposed to head straight for the merge and have equal advantage. So yeah I think any thing that you're doing to get an advantage over somebody else before the merge is cheating..

The thing I noticed is that he drops his landing gear. I'm not sure if that's a viable tactic or not.

Unless he's taking off early, you achieve the same result plane to plane.

How can you tell he's doing that?
-
Isn't there an indicator light for that?
-
I imagine it's the fastest way to put all the control surfaces back to neutral
