I'm kinda in the same boat. I quit, they begged me back, then offered me an ecommerce position (listing NOS stuff on fleabay) for $26 an hour. I come and go as I please (12 - 15 hours a week) and answer to no one. Plus, I don't have to deal with discount beggars anymore! (they're out in force today)

Oh yeah, free meals today. I've yet to ever claim one. Maybe I'll do the drive through at Starbucks. Been 7 or 8 years since I've had a Starbucks coffee.
-
Well, you don't have to deal with this shit working from home (I'm right in the middle of it, have moved a mile in the last 2 hours I'm 1.5 mi away from being able to escape

Dealt with the Dallas area traffic for many years. I see more than 10 cars on the road here and the PTSD kicks in.

I've witnessed DFW rush hour traffic. It's a goddam scam.

GTFO now while you can. Red you want to be on the I40/81 corridor in TN IMHO. I’m 25-30 min to the nearest Walmart in any direction. I can pickup I81 within 5 min and be in Knoxville within an hour same for Bristol.

Red I am sitting on 35 acres of land with a stick built house. Because of the green belt I just paid $810 for property tax for the year.
-
Ohh yea no state income tax.
-
Ohh you can register your side by sides and take em on the road.
-
What are you going to do about it?
How are they going to enforce an exit tax?

The state of New York went after Rush Limbaugh for a decade after he moved away, every year he had to prove to them that he had spent less than 90 days in New York

Good move. Bricks and mortar are just becoming a hive of scum and villainy as far as customers are concerned.

There's a bbq joint up in Gaylord that has been thumbing their nose at bitchface from the start. They refused to close during the pandemic and were threatened by the local authorities, shut down, threatened with arrest. The guy has money and has good lawyers and has played a good game of chess. This last week I heard one of his radio spots and the swagger is gone. There's no longer a message at the end about risk it for the briscuit or any sideways remarks about our shitty state .gov that has become standard over the last two years. I believe he and and anyone associated with him should expect to be made examples of and they know it... Including media outlets that dare to air his ads.
They do this with the consent of 50% of the voters.

Maybe it's that the pandemic is pretty much over and he wants to get past that?
-
Maybe. Funny his tune changed as soon as the election was over.

Yeah, he was thinking Dixon would win. She was actually there for a rally about a month ago, he was all in on her winning. Now that that didn't happen, he knows he's fucked.
And as for the pandemic being over, don't bet on it. China has again gone full blown lockdowns including armored vehicles, drones, and quarantine camps.
I would not be surprised if we will have to "flatten the curve" again soon.
