Well that sucks.
He was battling with drugs and alcohol abuse for a long time. Popping 55 Vicodin a day at one point, 6000 AA meetings, detox 65x. Had Colin burst from opioids.
He battle all that for a long time.
I knew him personally long before he got famous. Fuck.
And BTW, he was exactly like what he was in "Friends". Exactly the same guy - basically playing himself. He was one of the funniest and most brutally sarcastic people I ever met. He wasn't as extroverted as in the show however - he was more quiet and more reserved - but he really was very much like he was on that show otherwise. I used to go "Yeah right..." when he'd say he was going to leave his mother's home and go live with his father who was a bit actor in Hollywood (like used to play little parts on the Love Boat etc. His dream/plan was to move to LA and become an actor. I never thought he'd pull it off, but he did.
He actually dated my sister for a while back in the day.
He amplified his personality for the show - he was much more toned down - but essentially the same. He was very funny, not annoying. When he picked on someone to give a hard time, it was always a fucking asshole who deserved it.
That's right, I forgot he lived in Ottawa growing up. Crazy small world. Seemed like he was getting his shit together, had been sober since 2021 last interview I saw with him. I hope they find nothing in his system, be a good "fuck you" to all the media you know are just hoping the tox screen comes back with something positive.
